Excellence Awards Submittal - 2021

CATEGORIES & SUBMITTAL
REQUIREMENTS


Architectural Project of the Year

If you are a licensed architect in the State of Utah, you are eligible to submit your firm for the 2021 CCIM Excellence Awards for Architectural Project of The Year Award.


Judging Process: The judging panel will consist of the CCIM Utah Board. Each architectural project will be judged based on the submittal requirements and the information that is provided. All criteria must be addressed in your submittal to ensure the highest score possible.


AWARDS: Architectural Project of the year, “Finalists” will be notified in advance of the 2021 CCIM Excellence Awards. It is the CCIM boards intention to have three finalists in each category. Your firm does not have to be involved with CCIM to submit.


QUALIFICATIONS:


1. Project must be more than $5 Million. Entries must clearly specify the value of the project being entered.

2. Project of any type, from any industry, public or private sectors is eligible.

3. The project entered must not have been completed earlier than January 1, 2020 or later than December 31, 2020. (Completion date will be deemed the date the certificate of occupancy was issued.)

4. Nomination period lasts from November 16, 2020 thru January 8, 2021.

5. Each entry form must be submitted by deadline date to be considered.

6. The CCIM Utah Board will score the individual projects. Final scoring will remain confidential.


SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS:


1. Exterior and Interior Photographs - Project photographs (8-10 photos in high resolution) must be submitted with each entry for judging purposes. Photos will also be used for the CCIM Excellence Awards event.

2. Project Description - Provide a concise but detailed description of the project (200 words or less).

3. Challenges & Teamwork - Describe any challenges or issues that the design team faced, managed, and overcame during the design process. Be specific about the project challenges and solutions. Also describe how teamwork was used to accomplish the project goals (300 words or less).

4. Innovation & Contribution to the Industry - In what ways is this project innovative, or helped to elevate industry standards? Describe any unique design techniques, design elements, materials, or new technology used for the project. How will this help the project benefit the client, community or design industry? (300 words or less).

5. Design Quality & Detailing - Describe how the design team excelled in terms of quality and expectations. How did the architect and key engineers exceed expectations of the client and achieve extraordinary results? (300 words or less).

6. Overall Design Strategy - What did your team do to ensure the project was designed on time and within budget?

7. High-Performance Building or LEED Certifications - Provide any High-Performance Building or LEED Certifications that should be considered (200 words or less).

8. Additional Information - Provide any additional information that should be considered regarding the project. (300 words or less).

General Contractor Project of the Year

If you are a licensed general contractor in the State of Utah, you are eligible to compete in the 2021 CCIM Excellence Awards for General Contractor Project of the Year.


Judging Process: The judging panel will consist of the members of the CCIM Utah board. Each project will be judged from the project photographs, project descriptions, and information submitted with your project entry. ALL criteria must be addressed in your submittal to ensure the highest score possible.


AWARDS: General Contractor Project of the year, “Finalists” will be notified in advance of the 2020 CCIM Excellence Awards. Your firm does not have to be involved with CCIM to submit for General Contractor Project of the Year. It is the CCIM boards’ intention to have three finalists in each category.

Describe any unique construction techniques, design elements, materials, or new technology used for the project. How will this help the project benefit the client, community, or construction industry? (300 words or less).

5. Construction Quality & Craftsmanship - Describe how the construction team excelled in terms of quality and craftsmanship. How did the contractor and key subcontractors exceed expectations and achieve extraordinary results? (300 words or less).

6. Overall Construction Strategy - What did your team do to ensure the project was completed on time? If the project was not completed on schedule explain why.

7. High-Performance Building or LEED Certifications - Provide any High-Performance Building or LEED Certifications that should be considered (200 words or less).

8. Safety - What is the safety record for the project? What is your current EMR? Identify what training/safety programs were implemented to prevent injuries and assure a safe jobsite? (300 words or less)

9. Additional Information - Provide any additional information that should be considered regarding the project. (300 words or less).

Architectural Firm of the Year

If you are a licensed architect in the State of Utah, you are eligible to submit your firm for the 2021 CCIM Excellence Awards for Architectural Firm of The Year Award.

2. Must be involved in the Commercial Real Estate sector: Office, Industrial, Multi-Family, etc.

3. Nomination period lasts from November 16, 2020 thru January 8, 2021.

5. The CCIM Utah Board will score the individual firms based on the submittal requirements.

Final scoring will remain confidential. The decision of the CCIM Utah Board’s selection of Architectural Firm of the year is final.

2. Firm Description - Provide a concise but detailed description of your firm. Include

information about your firm, number of employees, revenue, years in business, and overview of your firm, show projects that we completed by your firm in 2020. (350 words or less).

3. Innovation & Contribution to the Industry - In what ways has your firm helped to elevate industry standards? Describe any new technology or design techniques your firm has used to benefit your clients, community or design industry (300 words or less).

4. Community Involvement – What has your firm done to support the community you do business in? Include volunteer efforts, supporting non-profits, or any special programs.

5. Sustainability - Provide us with how your firm is committed to sustainability, not only in your day-to-day business, but on your projects (200 words or less).

6. Additional Information - Provide any additional information that should be considered regarding the project. (300 words or less).

General Contractor of the Year

If you are a licensed general contractor in the State of Utah you are eligible to submit your firm for the 2021 CCIM Excellence Awards for General Contractor of The Year Award.


Judging Process: The judging panel will consist of the CCIM Utah Board. Each contractor will be judged based on the submittal requirements and the information that is provided. All criteria must be addressed in your submittal to ensure the highest score possible.


AWARDS: General Contractor of the Year, “Finalists” will be notified in advance of the 2021 CCIM Excellence Awards. It is the CCIM boards intention to have three finalists in each category. Your firm does not have to be involved with CCIM to submit.


QUALIFICATIONS:


1. Firm must be a licensed Utah Contractor

2. Must have revenue of more than $15 Million for fiscal year 2020

3. Nomination period lasts from November 16, 2020 thru January 8, 2021.

4. Each entry form must be submitted by deadline date to be considered.

5. The CCIM Utah Board will score the individual firms based on the submittal requirements.

Final scoring will remain confidential. The decision of the CCIM Utah Board’s selection of Contractor of the year is final.
